One 18-year-old man was arrested in Limassol with 1,807 industrial firecrackers in his car boot. In Nicosia, a 19-year-old man was arrested with 11 firework launchers and 115 firecrackers. In Larnaca, a 42-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man were found with 40 firecrackers, two fireworks, and 80 firecrackers, two fireworks respectively. In Paphos, a 21-year-old man was arrested with 17 industrial firecrackers while walking near a church.

A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized on Easter Sunday after a car crash in Paphos village of Peyia. The car, driven by a 15-year-old, collided with another car driven by a 47-year-old man. The 15-year-old’s car veered off course after the collision, hitting a road sign. The 16-year-old suffered blunt force trauma to his head but is not in immediate danger. The 47-year-old driver had a zero alcohol reading. The police investigation is ongoing.
