A 53-year-old’s double-cabin vehicle was destroyed in a fire outside a petrol station in Parekklesia. The fire was determined to be maliciously started using flammable material, and investigations are ongoing.
A 40-year-old man was remanded into custody under suspicion of being involved in a suspected car arson. Police received testimony against him for allegedly being involved in setting a car on fire in an open lot on Friday night at 7pm. He appeared in court on Saturday and was remanded for eight days.

The car, due to the fire, rolled off and collided with another vehicle owned by a 32-year-old man, causing the second vehicle to also catch fire. The fire service extinguished the fire. Deputy police chief Michalis Nikolaou stated that the determination of arson was based on secured testimony. The investigation by Paphos CID is ongoing, with the scene remaining cordoned off.
