Twelve vehicles were extensively damaged by a fire outside a car repair shop in Kaimakli, Nicosia. The fire broke out at 5:37am and the car body shop was closed at the time. Fire fighters responded with four fire trucks and used water transfers and breathing equipment to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire will be investigated later.
The Deputy Ministry of Tourism is working on upgrading the quality of local hotels and entertainment venues while also encouraging the development of camping in an organized fashion within non-residential areas.
