Dozens of animals were burned alive in the Ayios Sylas fire, with a livestock farm and fenced compound being burned down. The fire has been described as a blatant arson attack, and police operations to track down suspects are underway.
Twelve vehicles were extensively damaged by a fire outside a car repair shop in Kaimakli, Nicosia. The fire broke out at 5:37am and the car body shop was closed at the time. Fire fighters responded with four fire trucks and used water transfers and breathing equipment to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire will be investigated later.
