A man was shot while riding his motorbike in the Anthoupolis area in Nicosia. He is in critical condition with wounds from three bullets. The victim is reportedly a member of the gang of criminal Alexis Mavromichalis. The shooter was a passenger on a second motorbike, and a third person is being investigated. The victim had visited an individual being held at the Lakatamia police station before the shooting. Police are investigating threats made by the victim to establish a motive for the attack. The perpetrators of the shooting waited in ambush near the police station. The victim was found on the ground in a pool of blood with three bullet casings nearby.
The European Parliament approved rules to ban the sale, import, and export of goods made using forced labor in the EU. The move was driven by concerns about human rights abuses in the Chinese province of Xinjiang. If a product is found to have been made using forced labor, it will not be allowed to be sold in the EU market, and shipments will be intercepted at the borders. The law still needs approval from EU countries to enter into force, with a three-year deadline for implementation.

A bronze bell was stolen from the chapel of Ayios Nikolaos in Chlorakas, Paphos. The theft took place either on Friday night or Saturday night and the bell is estimated to be worth €3,500. Paphos police are investigating the incident.
