Pupil accused of vandalising Livadia Primary school to testify
A 10-year-old is expected to appear at the Voroklini Police Station with his parents to give a statement regarding his alleged involvement in causing damage at Livadia Primary School on Holy Saturday. The police are also looking for other individuals who may have been involved in the vandalism, which included setting fire to benches and a table, breaking a classroom window, and throwing books and notebooks on the floor. The 10-year-old will be treated according to procedures for minors, as those under 14 years old are not legally responsible.

A 10-year-old pupil allegedly caused damage to windows and roof tiles at a primary school in Livadia, while unknown individuals throwing firecrackers burned a bench and plastic bins in the school’s yard. The damage was discovered by cleaners who arrived at the school on Sunday morning. The school board will request that the parents of the 10-year-old cover the costs of the damages, estimated to be around one thousand euros.
Six suspects in Lakatamia murder attempt remanded after marathon court session
– Nicosia district court Judge Niovi Petridou issued a remand order for six of the nine suspects arrested in connection with the attempted murder in Lakatamia in April.
– The decision for the remaining three suspects will be announced at noon on Tuesday.
– One of the suspects is a convict being held in the central prisons, sentenced to 17 years in prison in 2021 for attempted murder.
– The 45-year-old suspect allegedly paid the shooter €10,000 euros and promised him a monthly sum of €1,500 for life.
– The 45-year-old was presented as the new Nicosia gang leader and in conflict with the victim over control of properties, primarily betting agencies.
– The fifth suspect allegedly tried to shoot the victim on two separate occasions but hesitated, leading the sixth suspect to take over the job.
– Serious evidence has been sent for tests and the exact motive of the crime will be announced after completion of the investigation.
– The weapon used in the crime has not been found yet, and a burned motorbike found in Aglantzia is being investigated for links to the case.
Four persons were arrested for the attack on an elderly man’s house in Kiti
Four persons, all minors aged 14 to 16, were arrested by the Police today based on court warrants. They are being held in custody to aid in the investigation of several offenses including causing malicious damage, conspiracy to commit a felony, and illegal possession of explosives. The Kiti Police Station is working with the Larnaca Police Station on the ongoing investigations.
