FIKOS: Me and My Monkey

Fikos is hosting his second solo exhibition at The Edit Gallery titled “Me and My Monkey” from May 24th to June 22nd. The exhibition explores the conflict between modern social norms and primal instincts, symbolized through hybrid creatures in his artwork. Fikos’ unique style combines elements of Byzantine art, graffiti aesthetics, and contemporary expressionism, inviting viewers to contemplate the evolution of human consciousness and the struggle with our primitive instincts.

Pink Floyd drummer open to reunion but says no appetite for one

Pink Floyd’s drummer Nick Mason expressed his openness to a reunion gig with the band, but believes his feuding bandmates Roger Waters and David Gilmour do not share the same sentiment. The band last performed together in 2005 at a charity concert. Keyboardist Richard Wright and original frontman Syd Barrett have passed away. Mason has not discussed the possibility of a reunion with Waters or Gilmour. The feud between Waters and Gilmour has intensified over the years. Mason hinted at the possibility of doing shows with his own ensemble, similar to a surprise appearance by Waters in 2022. Mason believes there is not much interest in a Pink Floyd reunion.

The 3rd Festival for the Promotion of Gender Equality, Femme Fest Cyprus, will take place on 18 and 19 May at the Nicosia Municipal Garden. The festival aims to raise awareness on gender equality, promote discussion of gender issues, and give a platform to women from different sectors to share their stories. The event will include discussions on various topics such as women’s reproductive rights, gender-based violence, and workshops on gender stereotypes. Over 50 organizations will participate, and there will be cultural performances, workshops for children, and food and drinks available. Admission and participation in all activities are free of charge.

The actors attended “ape school” to prepare for their roles, with each learning about the movements and behaviors of different types of apes. The movie is set to be released in theaters on Friday.
