A 49-year-old maths teacher has been remanded in custody for eight days regarding two separate cases of sexual harassment of minors at a private tutoring centre in Nicosia.
The complainants are two underage female pupils aged 16 and 13.
The 16-year-old’s complaint was made on May 22. The minor went to the police station accompanied by her mother and reported that the 49-year-old, during the lesson, touched her thigh and breast. According to the complaint, the incident took place in the classroom and no other person was present.
The suspect was arrested two days before the complaint was filed, on May 20, after the issuance of a court warrant for similar offences with a 13-year-old complainant.
