Three individuals, aged 32, 46, and 50, were brought before the Larnaca District Court today facing charges of conspiracy to commit a felony, extortion, and demanding money under threat.
Prosecutors allege the trio threatened and intimidated a couple in the Larnaca district on multiple occasions between March and April.
The suspects are accused of demanding €300,000 from the victims stemming from past financial dealings.
The case has been adjourned until December 4, 2024. While police requested the detention of all accused, the court granted bail with conditions to the 46-year-old and 32-year-old defendants.
Each posted a €20,000 bond, must report to a police station twice weekly, surrender their travel documents, and are subject to a travel stop list.
The 50-year-old defendant remains in custody for failing to meet the court’s bail conditions.court case. conspiracy, extortion, demanding money
