Two separate traffic collisions occurred around 8 a.m. on Thursday on the Limassol motorway and the Limassol bypass, with Police advising drivers to exercise caution in the area. The first collision, involving five vehicles, took place on the bypass between the Agia Phyla and Mesa Geitonia roundabouts, in the direction of Nicosia, with no reported injuries. The second collision, also involving five vehicles, occurred on the Limassol motorway heading towards Paphos, near the Agios Athanasios Municipality. Two individuals will be taken to the hospital for medical examinations as a precaution. Police officers are at the scenes, conducting investigations and regulating traffic flow.

The Court of Appeal reduced the sentence of a 54-year-old driver involved in a fatal accident in 2019, from nine years to seven years in prison. The accident occurred on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, where the driver, under the influence of alcohol and pills, collided with another car, resulting in the death of a 27-year-old man. The Court of Appeal deemed the original sentence excessive for involuntary manslaughter.

The area near the Pissouri exit on the Limassol-Paphos motorway has reopened after a fire broke out in a semi-truck. The driver was able to safely exit the vehicle.

The right lane of the Paphos-Limassol motorway near Ypsonas is closed due to a collision between a truck and a saloon car. Police are on site to help and advise drivers to be cautious, drive at reduced speed, and maintain a safe distance. The driver of the car was taken to Limassol General Hospital for medical checks.
A 25-year-old man from Limassol was arrested for driving under the influence of narcotics and possession of cannabis. Police stopped his vehicle on the Limassol-Paphos motorway, where he discarded two bags containing cannabis before being apprehended. A drug test revealed cocaine in his system, and he later admitted to the offences. He was charged and released with a court summons pending.
