The Daleela passenger and car ferry has resumed its sailings from Limassol to Piraeus for the third season, with increased ticket sales compared to last year. The ferry will operate exclusively from Limassol, with departures on Wednesdays and Sundays from Limassol and Tuesdays and Fridays from Piraeus. Ticket prices have slightly increased from last year, with the ferry receiving a €5.5 million annual subsidy. The ferry link between Cyprus and Greece was reinstated in 2022 after 20 years, supported by a state subsidy approved by the European Commission.
The Cyprus-Greece ferry service resumed on Wednesday with the Cypriot-flagged Daleela departing from Limassol port. The service will have a total of 22 itineraries throughout the summer, with the last one departing on September 1. As of last week, the service received 8,500 bookings, including 6,600 passengers, 1,750 cars, and 150 pets.
Cypriots are pessimistic about the future, the economy, and geopolitical crises, but maintain trust in European institutions and the single currency. The two traditional political parties, DISY and AKEL, are expected to dominate the upcoming elections for members of the European Parliament, mayors, and councillors. DISY is in the lead for the election of the six MEPs with 20%, followed by AKEL with 19%.

Orthodoxou Aviation Ltd is offering ferry ticket reservations for the Cyprus-Greece sea route on the ship DALEELA. The ferry will depart from Limassol to Piraeus and back from Piraeus to Limassol from May 29 to September 3, 2024. Staff are available for reservations and inquiries from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
