The CFA Society Cyprus organized an annual economic forum where the main topics of discussion were the financial outlook for the global economy and markets, as well as the key principles of financial forecasting. President Andreas Cleanthous highlighted the importance of financial forecasting in the investment process during the event.
The inaugural Cyprus Forum London was held at the Cyprus High Commission’s premises in central London. Shipping Deputy Minister Marina Hadjimanoli opened the conference and highlighted the growth in new ship registrations in Cyprus, which have increased by 5.5% in the last six months, positioning the Cypriot registry among the top globally.

The forum aims to facilitate discussions among policymakers, academics, civil society representatives, and thought leaders. The agenda has been curated with the help of various organizations including the Hellenic Observatory at the LSE, SEESOX at Oxford, the British Council, the Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law, and the Department of Politics at the University of York. Deputy Minister Nikodemos Damianou outlined the Cyprus government’s plans for smart city development, including the Smart Cyprus initiative. Deputy Minister Irene Piki emphasized the critical role of cities in improving citizens’ quality of life.
