The park features a cafeteria, three sports areas, a climbing wall, toilets, changing rooms, a playground, a skate park, a tennis court, a parking area, and communal spaces. The licensee is responsible for maintaining and potentially upgrading the park while having the right to commercially profit from certain facilities. The Park of Colours is the largest of its kind in Cyprus, covering about 32,000 square meters, and aims to enhance the city’s urban infrastructure and residents’ quality of life. It offers a variety of facilities and a small amphitheater for cultural events.

The PyrΑnankampsi/Alevlerden Gelecege Project, established under the Laona Foundation with Greek and Turkish Cypriot collaboration, has been completed after two years. It aimed at enhancing civic action in fire-affected communities across Cyprus, training over 650 participants in fire prevention and recovery techniques. The project, which received funding from the Active Citizens Fund Cyprus program supported by Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway, as well as the A.G Leventis Foundation, involved around 470 Greek Cypriots and 180 Turkish Cypriots. It focused on rural areas in Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos, and the Pentadaktylos range, teaching participants SWOT analysis, and the construction of dry stone walls to prevent erosion. The project also involved tree planting with a focus on using heat-resistant trees and plants.

In 2023, Paphos received over 120,000 tourists from Poland, a number expected to rise in 2024 with Ryanair operating at least 14 flights per week from six Polish airports.

This analysis, derived from over 4,200 real estate listings on INDEX, showed a 36 percent price discount on pre-owned properties compared to new ones in Larnaca, with the median price per square meter for new real estate at €3,619 and for pre-owned properties at €2,289. The analysis considered 19 percent VAT for new assets and 4 percent Transfer of Title Fees for pre-owned ones. Differences in pricing between new and pre-owned properties were also noted in other regions, such as Limassol (25 percent difference), Nicosia (27 percent), Paphos (27 percent), and Famagusta (21 percent), based on an analysis of 24,773 new properties and 4,539 pre-owned ones. The report highlights Larnaca’s attractiveness for investment and residential opportunities, with a growing trend of buying and flipping pre-owned properties for profit.

A seven-year-old girl is in intensive care after a car crash in Paphos, involving a collision between a car driven by a 21-year-old man and another driven by a 30-year-old woman with three children inside. The incident occurred around 7.40pm on Thursday. The 14-year-old was hospitalized overnight as a precaution, and the seven-year-old was taken to the paediatric intensive care unit at Makarios hospital in Nicosia. The 21-year-old driver’s drug test was negative, and the police investigation is ongoing.

Three people were arrested at Paphos airport for possession of forged passports. A 27-year-old man and his 25-year-old wife, both holding Syrian passports and tickets to Sofia, were found with forged British passports and tickets to Dublin. Similarly, a 25-year-old man with a Syrian passport and a ticket to Sofia was discovered to have a fake Dutch passport and a ticket to Dublin. The two men are in custody, while the woman was charged in writing due to having a child. They are expected to appear in court on Friday.

Italian artist Francesco Camillo Giorgino, known as Millo, is creating eight large-scale murals in Limassol, Cyprus, as part of the Art Square project. These murals, which are being painted on buildings under construction, aim to become a new landmark for Limassol and contribute to the city’s bid to become the European Capital of Culture 2030. The murals, which depict the beauty of Cyprus’s nature and its people, are expected to be completed by April 6. This project marks Millo’s third in Cyprus, following previous works in Yeroskipou in 2022 and Paphos in 2017. Millo’s work is characterized by bright colors, black and white line drawings, and large faces, and can be found worldwide, including in permanent museum collections.
