A fire broke out last night at the “Tseriou Multipurpose Center” in Nicosia.
Three fire trucks responded from the Lakatamia and Acropolis Fire Stations, as well as the Spyros Ttanti Fire Station.
The fire, which was located in the lounge area on the ground floor of the building, was extinguished before the arrival of the Fire Service personnel.
The occupants of the facility were promptly evacuated by the staff in cooperation with the members of the Fire Service, without being endangered, and were examined by the ambulance crew called to the scene.
One person was taken precautiously by ambulance to the Nicosia General Hospital for further examinations. Fire Service members conducted an inspection and ventilated the area.
The causes of the fire will be investigated later today in collaboration with the relevant authorities.
