Today, the Permanent Criminal Court of Limassol imposed a prison sentence on the 34-year-old defendant in relation to the case of 8 kilograms of cocaine that were discovered and seized on October 13, 2023, at the residence of Mouttagiaka. The same case also accuses a 35-year-old whose drugs were found.The Permanent Criminal Court of Limassol found the 34-year-old guilty after his own admission to the serious charges of possession and possession with intent to supply to others, and imposed a sentence of 12 years imprisonment. It should be noted that following this development, the now convicted 34-year-old will be called to testify against the first defendant and his godfather. As reported by philenews, he has already been enrolled in the witness protection program.The 34-year-old defendant and owner of the residence admitted to his role as a warehouseman, stating that he allowed his friend to use the space in his house to conceal a quantity of cocaine, receiving a payment of €1,000 per month.According to the facts of the case, information was received by the Limassol CID that the two men, aged 35 and 34, were involved in the trafficking of large quantities of drugs. After a coordinated operation by the Limassol CID on October 13, 2023, the two defendants were caught red-handed in an open area adjacent to the 34-year-old’s residence in Mouttagiaka, engaged in the division and packaging of a kilogram of cocaine.Specifically, the two defendants were found distributing cocaine in various doses in bags, ready for sale, during the CID raid. Members of the CID proceeded to arrest the 35-year-old while the 34-year-old defendant attempted to escape, throwing a bag with 100 grams of cocaine into the courtyard of a neighboring house. The 34-year-old was eventually apprehended by police officers and handcuffed. During a search, buried quantities of cocaine weighing approximately 8 kilograms as well as a kilogram of cannabis were discovered.Additionally, precision scales, a sum of money, a mobile phone, eleven bullets, and two smoke grenades were found and seized as evidence. The value of the seized quantity of 8 kilograms of cocaine, according to CID investigators, is estimated at approximately one million euros.
