A planned €15 million residential complex in Pano Platres, Cyprus, has been approved by the Environmental Authority after initial concerns prompted modifications to the project.
The “Nightingale Residential Compound,” developed by Roomzly, will be located within the Kouris Dam Reservoir’s protected zones.
The originally proposed plans raised environmental concerns due to the inclusion of buildings on steep slopes above the Krios Riverbed and a private wastewater treatment plant on unstable terrain. Additionally, the project would have necessitated the removal of approximately 70 pine trees aged 25-50 years old.
Following consultations with relevant authorities including the Department of Forests and the Water Development Department, the Environmental Authority approved the project with revisions.
The revised plans eliminate the three buildings on the slopes and remove the wastewater treatment plant. Construction will be confined to the designated residential zone (H7) and avoid protected areas. The project must also adhere to mitigation measures outlined in the information report.
The development is situated near the Millomeris waterfall and the Troodos National Forest Park network.
Authorities deemed the revised project compatible with surrounding developments such as “Platres Panorama” and “Guru”.residential complex. residential complex, environmental concerns, revised plans
