Firefighters tackled 120 blazes across Cyprus in the last 24 hours, as residents lit traditional “lampratzia” bonfires, the fire service said on Sunday.
The service responded to a total of 138 incidents, with the fires erupting in various locations.
Firefighters’ interventions prevented serious damage to property and infrastructure, the statement added.
