Russian armoured assaults ramp up pressure on Ukraine’s east, army chief says

Vital U.S. military aid expected by Kyiv remains stuck in Congress. Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that Russian forces were taking losses but also making tactical gains. Ukraine’s military is facing challenges and is calling for better training for soldiers. Ukraine’s parliament passed a bill to overhaul how civilians are drafted into the armed forces, with the draft age lowered to 25.

The air mass affecting the area will gradually recede from Thursday, with intermittent dust in the atmosphere until Friday. Today, the weather will be mainly clear with occasional high clouds. Winds will be variable and weak, becoming southwest to northwest and weak to moderate. The sea will be smooth to slight. Temperatures will reach around 34 degrees Celsius inland, around 29 on the coasts, around 24 on the western coasts, and around 23 in higher mountainous areas. Tonight will continue to be mainly clear with temperatures dropping to around 14 degrees Celsius inland and on the coasts, and around 12 degrees Celsius in higher mountainous areas.
Warning over higher dust levels, warmer days
The Cyprus Pulmonology Society issued a warning about elevated dust levels in the air due to dust blowing northward from the Sahara towards Cyprus. The warm weather is expected to continue well into the next week.
