Britain’s BBC considers building in-house AI model
The BBC is planning to develop its own artificial intelligence model using its text archives. This initiative was confirmed by a BBC spokesperson following a report by the Financial Times. The model, which will be a Large Language Model based on text content, is intended for internal use by the BBC only. Additionally, the BBC is exploring the possibility of either working alone or in partnership to train this model, with a focus on addressing potential biases within such models. Despite reports of discussions with technology firms about accessing its archives for AI training, the BBC stated it has no agreements for commercial use of its archive to train AI models.
