Wozniacki not feeling the love as Halep returns from doping ban
Simona Halep received a warm welcome from fans at the Miami Open in her first match back from a doping suspension, but Caroline Wozniacki gave her a frostier reception. Halep, a former Wimbledon and French Open champion, was suspended in October 2022 after testing positive for roxadustat at the U.S. Open. Her four-year ban was reduced to nine months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which she claims was due to a contaminated supplement, not intentional doping. Wozniacki, however, expressed her belief that players who test positive for doping should not be awarded wildcards.
