Everton were docked two more points by the Premier League, their second points deduction this season, for a breach of Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). This leaves Everton in 16th place on 27 points, two above the relegation zone. Nottingham Forest were also penalized with four points deducted for breaking financial rules last season, putting them in the relegation zone.
Tottenham Hotspur missed the chance to move into the top four when they were held to a 1-1 draw at West Ham United after Brennan Johnson’s early strike was cancelled out by Kurt Zouma’s header in their Premier League clash.
Nottingham Forest was deducted four points for breaking financial rules last season, resulting in their fall into the Premier League relegation zone. The deduction was due to a breach of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules for the period ending Season 2022/23, with Forest admitting to exceeding the allowable loss threshold by 34.5 million pounds. This penalty leaves Forest in 18th place with 21 points. Forest is the second Premier League club to receive a points deduction for financial breaches this season, following Everton.
