News agencies withdraw photo of UK, ’s Princess of Wales, image photoshopped?
Several leading news organizations, including Getty, Reuters, Associated Press, and AFP, withdrew a photograph issued by Kensington Palace of Kate, Britain’s Princess of Wales, and her three children after it did not meet their editorial standards due to post-publication analysis suggesting the image had been altered. The alteration was indicated by part of the sleeve of Kate’s daughter’s cardigan not lining up properly. The photograph was issued along with a message of thanks from the princess, marking her first public comments since undergoing abdominal surgery in January. The palace stated the picture was taken by Prince William, showing Kate at 42, smiling and surrounded by Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte. Kate has been absent from public royal life since Christmas Day, and the palace had previously announced she was unlikely to return to official duties until after Easter.
