Paphos hospital renovation nears completion

The renovation project at the Paphos general hospital, which includes the creation of new spaces and the renovation of existing ones, is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2024. This project, which started in August 2023 and is part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, has a total cost of €5,792,633, with €1,537,000 being funded by the EU. The hospital, being the largest in the district, aims to provide better health services and an improved patient experience upon completion of this project. The renovation will enhance the obstetrics-gynaecology department with new facilities including a labour, delivery and recovery room, infant care area, and prenatal clinic. The paediatric department will also be upgraded, with designs accommodating patients with disabilities. Additionally, a new haemodialysis unit, which cost €4,737,000 with €4,016,340 funded by the EU Recovery and Resilience Plan, has been inaugurated. This unit, renovated to European standards, can host up to 27 haemodialysis stations and is staffed by medical and paramedical personnel.
