British colonial rule through the eyes of Cypriot satire,  

The Hierokipion Free University in Paphos will host a lecture on Cypriot satirical newspapers during British colonial rule in the early 20th century, announced by the University of Cyprus. The lecture, titled ‘Aspects of British rule in the Cypriot satirical press of the early 20th century’, will be delivered by Katerina Papazacharia, a lecturer in diplomatic history and international relations at the University of Neapolis in Paphos. It will focus on 15 satirical newspapers that criticized colonial rule through cartoons, reflecting the national sentiment and critical phases of the Cyprus issue at the time. The event is scheduled for Friday, March 29 at 7pm in the events hall of the multipurpose centre in Yeroskipou. The lecture can be watched live or through the radio station “Radio Paphos Pangypria” on various frequencies and online.
