Man wanted for burglary caught at Ledra crossing
A 34-year-old man was arrested by Paphos police on Monday for a case of residential burglary and theft. The crime was reported on January 22 by a 47-year-old resident of Paphos, who found her absent sister’s apartment had been broken into. The suspect, a permanent resident of the island, was identified using CCTV footage and a rental car he allegedly used. Police found burglary tools and suspected stolen property in the vehicle. The man was wanted on a warrant for burglary, illegal possession of property, and possession of burglary tools. He presented himself at the Ledra cross point in Nicosia on Monday around 2pm, where he was stopped, searched, and found with various burglary tools and suspect items. He was re-arrested and taken to Paphos prison, with the investigation ongoing by Paphos CID.
