Cyprus ensures , ‘top quality, safety’ in blood transfusions
Cyprus is praised for ensuring the quality and safety of blood provided to patients. The country employs advanced molecular blood testing and chemiluminescence testing, has volunteer blood donors who are regularly tested, and does not pay for donations to avoid attracting donors motivated by financial gain. Donors who have received transfusions in the UK are excluded. Cyprus has been commended by the European Commission for its blood testing methods and quality checks. The Head of the Blood Centre emphasized the importance of regular blood donations to reduce the risk of disease transmission.
