The basket of Green Monday items includes fruits, vegetables, halva, salads, dips, olives, molluscs, bakery items, wines, and charcoal. Price changes for halvas ranged from -15% to +5%, with some salads, dips, and relishes, including tahini, mustard pickle, and Greek aubergine salad, becoming more expensive by up to 48%. Seafood items varied in price, with Pacific octopus increasing by 18% and cleaned cuttlefish by 22%, while another brand of cuttlefish decreased by 21%. Black Cyprus olives and ‘cracked’ green tsakistes olives also saw price increases of 8% and 6%, respectively. The survey was conducted on March 14, and the Consumer Protection Service advises consumers to be vigilant when comparing products.
