Unnecessary and counterproductive public confrontations, he notes
The Minister of Finance Makis Keravnos assured that he supports the General Health Plan "in every way", at the same time characterizing the public confrontations as "unnecessary and counterproductive".
In his written statement after the reactions following his morning reports about the NHS, Mr. Keravnos emphasized that "the first priority of the Government and the Ministry of Finance is to ensure the sustainability and operation of a modern General Health System that meets the expectations of the people, in terms of the quality and in general the level of the medical care provided".
"As Minister of Finance, I have stated many times that I consider GeSY as an important popular achievement and I support it in every way", he added.
Characterizing all the involved bodies "as partners towards the common goal of ensuring the smooth operation of the National Health Service", Mr. Keravnos added that "any public confrontations do not contribute to this goal and I consider them to be unnecessary and counterproductive".
"Based on the well-intentioned interest of patients and society, I will personally continue, as well as all the members of the Government, to present policies, through sincere cooperation with the social partners, that upgrade the services provided and improve the daily life of our fellow citizens", concluded the Minister of Finance.
Let us remind you that earlier today, Mr. Keravnos spoke of a sick imagination and mischief, when he was commenting on the RIK's Morning Schedule about OSAK's reports of strangulation of the Health sector by the Government and the concerns of organized patients about a repeat of the Fund's phenomena of Social Insurance in the case of the National Health Insurance Fund.
