The hostage was kidnapped on October 7 by Hamas and "accidentally" killed in December by Israeli soldiers
The Israeli army announced that it had located the car of a former hostage, who was kidnapped on October 7 by Hamas and "accidentally" killed in December by Israeli soldiers, in the vicinity of a Gaza hospital.
The car, along with another vehicle, which may have been used by Hamas members in their attack on Israeli soil, was found, according to the army statement, in the compound of the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip. This hospital is no longer in operation after it was targeted by Israeli soldiers on November 24.
“On the premises of the hospital we found a white Toyota van like the ones used by Hamas terrorists in the October 7 massacre, as well as weapons. In addition, in the same compound and in a demarcated zone, a Toyota Corolla car with an Israeli registration number, belonging to the family of the deceased Samer Talalka, was found," the statement of the armed forces reads.
Fragments from an RPG and traces of blood were found in this car and were found to be from another hostage. "The discovery of the car directly links the hospital to the brutal events of October 7," the military said.
This information has not been able to be confirmed by another, independent source. Since the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military has accused Hamas of using hospitals as "command centers" for its operations. Indonesia denied in November an Israeli claim that the hospital, which was built with Indonesian funds, was located above a network of Hamas tunnels near a rocket launch pad.
Bedouin Samer Talalka was one of three Israeli hostages accidentally killed by the Israeli army in Gaza.
