Larnaca municipality continues mosquito spraying campaign

Larnaca Municipality informs residents that systematic spraying to combat mosquitoes continues throughout the city.
Inspections and spraying are conducted by Officers and teams of the Municipality’s Health Service with the aim of reducing the number of mosquitoes, protecting public health, and preventing inconvenience to residents and visitors.
Particular emphasis is placed on the areas of the Salt Lakes, where significant mosquito breeding is observed.
Biological insecticides are used in this protected area.
Spraying also targets storm drains, open channels, non-operational pools, and other areas with stagnant water.
Due to high temperatures and favourable conditions for mosquito breeding, Larnaca Municipality urges residents to take their own preventive measures by avoiding stagnant water in their premises.
Residents are specifically advised not to keep containers, barrels, or old tanks with water, where large numbers of mosquitoes can breed and thrive.
Furthermore, residents are encouraged to clear wild vegetation around their homes/premises to deny mosquitoes shelter.
