The Small Tourist Bus Association, belonging to the authority of KEVE, has prioritised the qualitative enhancement of the services offered in our tourism industry, particularly in the public transportation sector.
The shortage of professional bus drivers constitutes a serious problem, and the Association urges both the government and the Parliament to take immediate action to find a solution to this problem, so that the transportation sector can operate smoothly.
Particular attention is drawn by the Association to the passage of taxis and numerous small tourist buses coming from the occupied areas, a practice that has been in place for two decades now.
Unfortunately, tolerating this misguided tactic creates conditions of unfair competition, as it extends beyond mere tourist transport to full-fledged activities in the free areas, covering routes throughout Cyprus.
The aforementioned practice directly and to a huge extent affects the members of the Association, as well as our tourism industry. Therefore, the Association calls on the government to find the right mechanisms to ensure that this practice does not work to our disadvantage, increasing and intensifying unfair competition.unfair competition. qualitative enhancement, shortage of professional bus drivers, unfair competition
