UN envoy may visit European capitals

European countries have indicated that the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General, Maria Angela Holguín Cuéllar, may subsequently visit them following her meeting with the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, at the Presidential Palace, noting that she will continue to work.
Speaking to journalists as she exited the Presidential Palace after her approximately one-hour meeting with President Christodoulides, Holguín said she would continue to work.
“I had very good meetings all week,” she said, adding that she concluded this round of meetings with President Christodoulides. She added that she hopes to be able to return with something, a little later.
Asked about her next destination, Holguín said she doesn’t know yet and that she might visit some European capitals in April and may also have contacts at the EU level.
When asked if she has a timetable, she answered “no” and said that she continues to work.
This is the second meeting of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General with President Christodoulides during her stay on the island this week.
Holguín is expected to depart from the island on Sunday, but her close collaborator, who will be her “eyes and ears” on the island, will remain in Cyprus.
During her stay in Cyprus, Holguín met with political parties, professional organizations, and representatives of civil society in both communities.meetings. European countries, Personal Envoy, UN Secretary-General
