As of 21/05/2024, the work of painting horizontal warning signs on the road surface and the installation of vertical markings with signs at light-controlled junctions and on-road sections where a light detection system (cameras) has been installed, started nationwide.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Works, the aim is to upgrade and reinforce existing signs to further inform the public.
As stated, this sign is purely a warning and does not negate the road markings as defined under the Road Traffic Code, e.g. at light-controlled intersections, the stop/start line indicating a mandatory stop.
The Department of Public Works urges the public to continue to comply with road signs and the Road Traffic Code in all instances.
