A significant element that instills greater optimism in Paphos for this year’s tourist season is the substantial increase in traffic anticipated from Germany to the province this summer.
Data up to mid-April from German travel agencies indicate that the estimates and data analyzed for Paphos at the recent international tourism exhibition ITB Berlin are now fully confirmed: Tourist flows from the large German market to Paphos for the remainder of 2024 will constitute an unprecedented surge, largely offsetting the ongoing losses from Russia and Israel due to conflicts.
Based on the latest bookings and expressions of interest from tour operators in the country, as well as individually from airlines, Germany will play a much larger role in tourist traffic to Paphos this coming summer compared to the previous five years, reinforcing the province’s strong position on the tourism map.
Tourism stakeholders in the province additionally believe that there is ample room for improvement in air connectivity to Paphos and the number of visitor arrivals, as well as a need for further promotion of our country in this market. In this context, Germany is regarded as a high-priority market for Paphos, which can significantly contribute to extending the tourist season and attracting visitors year-round.
This policy was communicated to German tour organizers at the ITB Berlin tourism exhibition, attended by delegations from ETAP and PASYXE Paphos.
This observation, combined with the ongoing, based on all evidence, very high visitation from the UK this year, is causing elation in touristy Paphos for a 2024 that is poised to be a record-breaking year in visitor arrivals.German tourists. optimism, traffic increase, tourist season
