{"id":8662,"date":"2024-04-18T12:00:09","date_gmt":"2024-04-18T09:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=8662"},"modified":"2024-04-18T12:00:09","modified_gmt":"2024-04-18T09:00:09","slug":"cypriot-capital-markets-to-benefit-from-emtn-dual-listing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=8662","title":{"rendered":"Cypriot capital markets to benefit from EMTN dual-listing"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/cypriot-capital-markets-to-benefit-from-emtn-dual-listing.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"flex flex-grow flex-col max-w-full\">\n<div class=\"min-h-[20px] text-message flex flex-col items-start gap-3 whitespace-pre-wrap break-words [.text-message+&amp;]:mt-5 overflow-x-auto\" dir=\"auto\" data-message-author-role=\"assistant\" data-message-id=\"5084869b-513b-4331-b16f-ed4fc5d3ecd5\">\n<div class=\"markdown prose w-full break-words dark:prose-invert light\">\n<strong>The Finance Ministry, in collaboration with SIX, a financial market infrastructure company, and the Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE), on Thursday announced the successful activation, referred to as going live, of the dual-listing of Euro Medium Term Notes (EMTN) of the Republic of Cyprus at the Cyprus Stock Exchange.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"cypru-video-ads\" id=\"cypru-1598694236\">\n<div id=\"cypru-670386128\" data-cypru-trackid=\"478051\" data-cypru-trackbid=\"1\" class=\"cypru-target\">\n<div id=\"gpt-ad-6100219529246-0\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to an announcement by the CSE, the first trading day in the EMTN officially commenced on March 27, 2024.<br \/>\nSpearheading this initiative, SIX has engineered a post-trade solution that fortifies the Cyprus Stock Exchange\u2019s role as the Central Securities Depository, ensuring the<strong> provision of safekeeping, settlement, and asset servicing<\/strong> for the Euro Medium Term Notes of the Republic of Cyprus.<br \/>\nThe announcement stated that \u201cthis <strong>partnership will enhance liquidity for the Republic of Cyprus\u2019 funding vehicles, accelerate the growth of the Cypriot capital markets<\/strong> and capture long-term joint value for both Cyprus Stock Exchange and SIX\u201d.<br \/>\nFinance Minister Makis Keravnos said that \u201cthe \u2018Go Live\u2019 of the dual-listing of the EMTN of the Republic of Cyprus at the Cyprus Stock Exchange reaffirms the Cypriot government\u2019s determination to facilitate access for the Cypriot investors to invest and trade in the Republic\u2019s international bond issuances thus expanding the investor base and enhancing the liquidity for the Republic\u2019s funding vehicles\u201d.<br \/>\n\u201cAt the same time, the dual listing of the Republic\u2019s international bond issuances at the Cyprus Stock Exchange signifies <strong>an important improvement of the effectiveness of the public debt management<\/strong>,\u201d he added.<br \/>\nMarcus Harreus, Managing Director of SIX SIS, said that the company is \u201cdelighted to announce together with the Ministry of Finance and the Cyprus Stock Exchange the \u201cGo Live\u201d of a <strong>significant infrastructure project<\/strong>, the dual-listing of the EMTN of the Republic of Cyprus at the Cyprus Stock Exchange\u201d.<br \/>\nHarreus explained that this partnership with the Cyprus Stock Exchange and the individualised solution the company designed and implemented for the CSE mark a significant step forward in <strong>strengthening the presence of SIX in Cyprus and increasing SIX\u2019s visibility in the region. <\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cGiven SIX\u2019s strong position in the global post-trade value chain, its global footprint and expertise, scale, multiplicity of connectivity patterns, enhanced servicing model, and innovative solutions, we trust that the partnership will increase Cyprus Stock Exchange\u2019s functionality, efficiencies and investor access,\u201d Harreus said.<br \/>\n\u201cWe look forward to continuing working with the <strong>Cyprus Stock Exchange towards expanding its market coverage<\/strong>, products, services and innovation potential, to further our joint vision of trust and innovation and capture long-term joint value.
