Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC) this week joined forces with other international and regional maritime organisations in demanding the immediate release of 25 innocent seafarers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"cypru-video-ads\" id=\"cypru-1304771081\">\n<div id=\"cypru-474106658\" data-cypru-trackid=\"478051\" data-cypru-trackbid=\"1\" class=\"cypru-target\">\n<div id=\"gpt-ad-2892362518914-0\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The crew, aboard the Portuguese-flagged container ship \u201cMSC Aries,\u201d was apprehended on April 13, 2024, by <strong>Iranian<\/strong> forces in the waters off Fujairah, UAE.<br \/>\nIn a statement, the CSC vehemently condemned the seizure of the \u201cMSC Aries,\u201d labelling it a \u201c<strong>blatant violation of international law and an attack on the fundamental principle of freedom of navigation\u201d<\/strong>.<br \/>\n\u201cOur thoughts are with the <strong>unjustly detained seafarers<\/strong> and their families, as their well-being remains our utmost priority,\u201d the chamber stated.<br \/>\nIn addition, the chamber stressed that \u201cinnocent seafarers and the international shipping industry<strong> should not fall victim to political tensions<\/strong>\u201c, adding that \u201ctherefore, both the crew and the vessel must be released
