Of these, net VAT revenues (after deductions) increased by \u20ac51.7 billion (+11.0%) and amounted to \u20ac523.2 billion compared to \u20ac471.5 billion in 2023.<br \/>\nIncome from income and wealth taxation increased by \u20ac120.8 billion (+20.1%) and amounted to \u20ac721.7 billion compared to \u20ac600.9 billion in 2023.<br \/>\nSocial contributions increased by \u20ac98.6 billion (+17.1%) and amounted to \u20ac673.9 billion compared to \u20ac575.3 billion in 2023. Interest and dividends received increased by \u20ac1.2 billion (+7.7%) and amounted to \u20ac16.8 billion compared to \u20ac15.6 billion in 2023.<br \/>\nCurrent transfers increased by \u20ac4.0 billion (+14.3%) and amounted to \u20ac31.9 billion compared to \u20ac27.9 billion in 2023. Income from services provided increased by \u20ac53.0 billion (+54.4%) and amounted to \u20ac150.4 billion compared to \u20ac97.4 billion in 2023. Capital transfers increased by \u20ac2.2 billion (+56.4%) and amounted to \u20ac6.1 billion compared to \u20ac3.9 billion in 2023.<br \/>\n<strong>Expenses<\/strong><br \/>\nTotal expenses for January-February 2024 increased by \u20ac197.1 billion or 12.3% and amounted to \u20ac1,793.2 billion compared to \u20ac1,596.1 billion for the same period in 2023.<br \/>\nSpecifically, intermediate consumption increased by \u20ac16.7 billion (+10.6%) and amounted to \u20ac174.1 billion compared to \u20ac157.4 billion in 2023. Personnel expenses (including social security contributions and pensions of public servants) increased by \u20ac82.0 billion (+15.8%) and amounted to \u20ac601.2 billion compared to \u20ac519.2 billion in 2023. Social benefits increased by \u20ac83.5 billion (+12.9%) and amounted to \u20ac730.8 billion compared to \u20ac647.3 billion in 2023. Current transfers increased by \u20ac3.9 billion (+3.2%) and amounted to \u20ac125.0 billion compared to \u20ac121.1 billion in 2023.<br \/>\nThe capital account increased by \u20ac39.8 billion (+73.4%) and amounted to \u20ac94.0 billion compared to \u20ac54.2 billion in 2023, of which, fixed capital investments increased by \u20ac21.8 billion (+43.4%) and amounted to \u20ac72.0 billion compared to \u20ac50.2 billion in 2023, and other capital transfers increased by \u20ac18.0 billion and amounted to \u20ac22.0 billion compared to \u20ac4.0 billion in 2023.<br \/>\nConversely, paid interest decreased by \u20ac13.9 billion (-18.9%) and amounted to \u20ac59.9 billion compared to \u20ac73.8 billion in 2023.
