{"id":6846,"date":"2024-04-04T16:00:26","date_gmt":"2024-04-04T13:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=6846"},"modified":"2024-04-04T16:00:26","modified_gmt":"2024-04-04T13:00:26","slug":"more-than-e8bn-of-major-developments-planned-in-cyprus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=6846","title":{"rendered":"More than , \u20ac8bn of \u2018major developments\u2019 planned in Cyprus"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/more-than-e8bn-of-major-developments-planned-in-cyprus.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>More than \u20ac8 billion of major developments have been planned<\/strong> to be carried out in Cyprus, the Association of Large Investment Projects\u2019 chairman Andreas Demetriades said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<div class=\"cypru-video-ads\" id=\"cypru-1775583640\">\n<div id=\"cypru-1656572993\" data-cypru-trackid=\"478051\" data-cypru-trackbid=\"1\" class=\"cypru-target\">\n<div id=\"gpt-ad-7900854717120-0\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Demetriades was speaking following a meeting between the association\u2019s board of directors and President Nikos Christodoulides and said the projects number between 18 and 20 and are expected to create between 8,000 and 9,000 jobs.<br \/>\nThe developments are set to include the construction of new marinas, golf courses, technology parks, large tourist complexes, medical centres and other projects, he said.<br \/>\nHe added that <strong>his views and those of Christodoulides are \u201caligned\u201d.<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cEveryone should make every possible effort to eliminate the dark spots of the past and that an economy which will be able to attract foreign investments should be strived for,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nIn addition, he said Christodoulides had showed a \u201cspecial interest\u201d in the problems faced by members of his association and would also look into \u201cthe ways in which Cyprus can attract foreign investment and promote the implementation of major development projects\u201d.<br \/>\nThis, he said, will include i<strong>ncentives to encourage foreign companies to partner with Cypriot companies<\/strong> so that the latter can acquire the necessary experience and know-how in specific sectors, and so that Cypriot businessmen would also benefit from such cooperations.<br \/>\nHe added that his association \u201cis in complete agreement\u201d with Christodoulides\u2019 plans to restore Cyprus\u2019 prestige abroad, and that its members have pledged to <strong>help him \u201cclean up\u201d Cyprus\u2019 name<\/strong> and improve the country\u2019s image in the eyes of investors.<br \/>\n\u201cIt is in everyone\u2019s interest, including that of the entrepreneurs themselves, to have a clean image which attracts real productive investments into Cyprus,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nHe did also pick some bones of contention with the current state of policy, saying Cypriot companies are facing \u201cunfair competition in terms of taxes\u201d as compared to companies abroad, but said \u201cthese issues are expected to be resolved within forthcoming tax reforms.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More than \u20ac8 billion of major developments have been planned in Cyprus, with 18 to 20 projects expected to create between 8,000 and 9,000 jobs.
