{"id":6794,"date":"2024-04-04T11:00:10","date_gmt":"2024-04-04T08:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=6794"},"modified":"2024-04-04T11:00:10","modified_gmt":"2024-04-04T08:00:10","slug":"ag-briefed-over-monastery-scandal-for-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=6794","title":{"rendered":"AG briefed over monastery scandal , \u2018for hours\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/ag-briefed-over-monastery-scandal-for-hours.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>The Legal Service was convening over the Osiou Avakoum monastery scandal on Thursday morning to pour over the results of police investigations.<\/p>\n<div class=\"cypru-video-ads\" id=\"cypru-551963103\">\n<div id=\"cypru-968514555\" data-cypru-trackid=\"478051\" data-cypru-trackbid=\"1\" class=\"cypru-target\">\n<div id=\"gpt-ad-6762893015573-0\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The meeting began at 10am and was <strong>expected to take a number of hours<\/strong>.<br \/>\nInvestigators who have handled the case will present their findings for evaluation before the attorney-general George Savvides.<br \/>\nDuring the meeting, the AG will also be briefed over the video showing a monk beating a woman. Police have already assigned the case to the vulnerable persons unit.<br \/>\nAuthorities have been criticised for not moving to make any arrests yet, while a six-member church committee was said to be working at a \u2018feverish pace\u2019 on the case.<br \/>\nThe case unfolded after two monks\u00a0were allegedly found with \u20ac800,000 in cash, and property in Greece and Limassol.
