{"id":6386,"date":"2024-04-01T14:00:48","date_gmt":"2024-04-01T11:00:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=6386"},"modified":"2024-04-01T14:00:48","modified_gmt":"2024-04-01T11:00:48","slug":"christodoulides-hopes-for-tatar-s-positive-response-to-un","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=6386","title":{"rendered":"Christodoulides hopes for Tatar, \u2019s positive response to UN"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/christodoulides-hopes-for-tatar-s-positive-response-to-un.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>President Nikos Christodoulides said on Monday he hopes Turkish Cypriot leader <strong>Ersin Tatar will respond positively to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres\u2019 proposals on the Cyprus problem<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"cypru-video-ads\" id=\"cypru-1261969102\">\n<div id=\"cypru-29550334\" data-cypru-trackid=\"478051\" data-cypru-trackbid=\"1\" class=\"cypru-target\">\n<div id=\"gpt-ad-8534325047339-0\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Speaking after a church service on April 1, Christodoulides commented on Tatar\u2019s visit to New York later this week to meet with Guterres.<br \/>\n\u201cThings are simple,\u201d the president said, responding to a question on April being a month with developments in the Cyprus problem.<br \/>\n\u201cAs I said, the UN secretary-general, when we met in Brussels, but also previously Mrs Holguin, conveyed some proposals to me, which I have accepted. I hope there will be a response from the other side,\u201d he said.<br \/>\n\u201cAnd in this context, I think the meeting that will take place on April 5 in New York is important, and I hope that there will be a response from the Turkish Cypriot side.\u201d<br \/>\nChristodoulides said that he is in contact with Holguin, but that in the coming days the most important thing will be Tatar\u2019s meeting with Guterres, where the former will be asked to respond to the proposal by the UNSG.<br \/>\nTatar\u2019s invite came after Guterres met Christodoulides in Belgium on the sidelines of the European Council summit last week.<br \/>\nThe Turkish Cypriot side had requested that Guterres also hold a meeting with Tatar, and Guterres promptly invited him to travel to Brussels the following day.
