Clearly, within this bubble, there is not even a basic sense of empathy,\u201d notes the party\u2019s spokesperson, Giorgos Koukoumas.<br \/>\nAs stated in a written statement: \u201cMr. Christodoulides and his government persistently refuse to admit that the measures they announced are not even aspirins for inflation.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What further exposes Mr. Christodoulides is his refusal to implement a drastic social support package to help society withstand the crisis, while the state has the means. State revenues have increased, exceeding 1.5 billion euros just last year. Revenues generated from inflation, meaning people are double-paying for inflation.<\/li>\n<li>Mr. Christodoulides is further exposed as he claims to be cutting for fiscal discipline, he rejects AKEL\u2019s suggestions to bolster the state\u2019s finances, i.e., taxing the windfall profits of banks and energy companies. His concern, therefore, is not the state\u2019s finances but not to offend big economic interests. We remind Mr. Christodoulides that he himself supported the taxation of windfall profits of energy companies during the election campaign.
