A multifunctional park, which will include spiral pedestrian walkways, a lake, a botanical garden, and panoramic sea views, is set to connect the west with the east of part of Ayia Napa, enriching its tourism offering.
\nThe Ayia Napa Municipality has launched a tender for the construction works, which will cost \u20ac3.625 million.
\nInterested parties can submit their bids until April 22, with the winning bidder having 16 months to complete the project. The initiative is part of the Cohesion Policy Programme THALIA 2021-2027, co-funded by the EU.
\nThe park, covering an area of 34,000 sq.m., will be located near the centre of the tourist area, where the Ayia Napa Cultural Centre was previously housed.
\nAccording to the design, a network of spiral-shaped pedestrian walkways will be created, along which infrastructure and spaces for multiple activities and uses will be established.
\nThe park will feature a central square, an artificial lake, a botanical garden, a mosaic park, a children\u2019s playground, and an observatory at the highest point to offer visitors panoramic views of Ayia Napa and the sea.
\nAdditionally, one of the park\u2019s areas will serve as an outdoor market for selling local products.
