Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve) president Stavros Stavrou<\/strong>, along with members of the chamber\u2019s executive committee, on Thursday met with the UN Secretary-General\u2019s recently appointed envoy to Cyprus Maria Angela Holguin Cuellar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The meeting, which was held at the Keve headquarters in Nicosia, saw participants discuss various topics related to the regulation of green line trade, the challenges involved, as well as the prospects for further trade development between the two communities. Follow the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve) president Stavros Stavrou and members of the chamber’s executive committee met with UN Secretary-General\u2019s envoy to Cyprus, Maria Angela Holguin Cuellar, at the Keve headquarters in Nicosia. They discussed the regulation of green line trade, challenges, prospects for further trade development between the two communities, and how this could help resolve the Cyprus problem. Stavrou emphasized the chamber’s role as the state’s advisor on economic matters and its support for equal commercial and economic cooperation between the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities. He stated that such cooperation aids in efforts to resolve the Cyprus problem, aligning with UN Security Council resolutions and decisions. \nThe Keve president said that the chamber plays an important role in this process, as the official advisor to the state on economic and entrepreneurial matters.
\nStavrou also reiterated the chamber\u2019s \u201cunwavering support for commercial and economic cooperation between the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities<\/strong>, always ensuring that it is conducted on equal terms\u201d.
\n\u201cThe economic cooperation between the two communities fosters a climate of collaboration and positively contributes to efforts to resolve the Cyprus problem, as envisaged in the resolutions and decisions of the UN Security Council, which is the ultimate goal for all involved,\u201d the chamber said in a statement.
