The Goethe-Institut Cyprus has been organizing this film series since 2019. It is based on the bestselling and much-lauded autobiographical first novel of Felix Lobrecht (German stand-up comedian, podcast moderator and author). The film, set in Gropiusstadt in the summer of 2003, paints a realistic picture of teenage kids in a socially deprived area of Berlin. They live in self-built tree houses to prevent the clearance of the ancient forest. Meyn\u2019s documentation ends abruptly when, during a police eviction he falls from a tree, leading to his tragic death. Meyn\u2019s friends and fellow students created this documentary using the footage recorded by him and conducting interviews with activists from \u201cHambi\u201d. They share personal insights into the paradoxes and hardships of an activist\u2019s life and deal with the ever-pressing question of how far activism should and needs to go.There will be an introduction and a discussion after the screening with Klitos Papastylianou, an environmental activist in Cyprus. A man tries to rape 19-year-old Reyhaneh Jabbari and she stabs him in self-defense. She is arrested for murder and sentenced to death. In the years that follow she becomes a symbol of resistance and women\u2019s rights.
