The Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance implements a training plan for employees in hotel units that are in total or partial suspension of operations.<\/p>\n
In an announcement by the Ministry, it is stated that the plan concerns hotel units that are in total or partial suspension of operations during the period December 2023 \u2013 March 2024 and January 2024 \u2013 May 2024 (for Mountain Resort Hotels).<\/p>\n
It is also noted that the plan will be implemented for two periods, i.e. during the period December 2023 \u2013 March 2024 and January 2024 \u2013 May 2024 (for Mountain Resort Hotels).<\/p>\n
According to the plan approved by the Cabinet, if hotel units choose to continue their operations during the period they used to suspend operations in previous years, then the unemployment benefit, which would normally be provided to workers, will be provided to the hotel unit as a training allowance, while the hotel unit will pay the full salary to the employee.<\/p>\n
"The purpose of the plan is to provide training opportunities to the employees of the hotel units in question, with the ultimate goal of improving their professional skills and, by extension, upgrading the tourism product of Cyprus", it is noted.<\/p>\n
The competent body for the management of the plan is the Social Insurance Services of the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance, it is added.<\/p>\n
