{"id":13879,"date":"2024-05-31T18:01:05","date_gmt":"2024-05-31T15:01:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=13879"},"modified":"2024-05-31T18:01:05","modified_gmt":"2024-05-31T15:01:05","slug":"north-s-minimum-wage-falls-by-e3-per-month-after-appeal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=13879","title":{"rendered":"North, \u2019s minimum wage falls by \u20ac3 per month after appeal"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/north-s-minimum-wage-falls-by-e3-per-month-after-appeal.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>The north\u2019s net minimum wage was reduced by 120TL (\u20ac3.43)<\/strong> <strong>per month<\/strong> on Friday following an appeal by business owners.The net figure had initially been set at 29,640TL (\u20ac848), but has now fallen to 29,520TL.<\/p>\n<p>Public sector workers\u2019 union (Kamu-Is) leader Ahmet Serdaroglu, who represents workers at the north\u2019s minimum wage determination commission, said he had chosen not to vote at the commission\u2019s meeting to reduce the wage on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe did not take part because we did not see the need to take part\u201d, he said, adding that the \u2018government\u2019 had said they were able to reduce the minimum wage as \u201cthey are bringing us cheap meat\u201d, in reference to their plans to import meat from the Netherlands and possibly Spain.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government set its sights on the 120TL in the pocket of a minimum wage worker. I do not understand what they are trying to prove. <strong>The government does not know what it is doing<\/strong>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The original gross monthly figure was the equivalent of \u20ac975, just \u20ac25 short of the Republic\u2019s minimum wage, though the new figure will likely now fall closer to \u20ac30 per month less.<\/p>\n<p>Though just shy of the Republic\u2019s, it is noted the north\u2019s new gross minimum wage is <strong>higher than that of 13 European Union member states, including Greece<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The north&#8217;s net minimum wage was reduced by 120TL (\u20ac3.43) per month following an appeal by business owners.
