fine Microsoft if it doesn\u2019t provide adequate information on risks stemming from generative AI features<\/strong> in search engine Bing by May 27.<\/p>\n<div class=\"cypru-video-ads\" id=\"cypru-1457840485\">\n<div id=\"cypru-1482599179\" data-cypru-trackid=\"478051\" data-cypru-trackbid=\"1\" class=\"cypru-target\">\n<div id=\"gpt-ad-9073388953004-0\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Commission said this week that it is worried about the dissemination of deep fakes and automated manipulation of services that can mislead voters.<br \/>\nIt said it was stepping up enforcement actions on the matter, as it had not received a reply to a request for information sent on March 14.<br \/>\nIf the deadline is not met, the commission could fine Bing up to 1 per cent of its total annual income with periodic penalties of up to 5 per cent of its average daily income.<br \/>\nIt can also fine the company if it provides incorrect or misleading information.<br \/>\nTech companies are required to do more to tackle illegal and harmful content on their platforms under the European Union\u2019s landmark Digital Services Act, which kicked in last year.<br \/>\nGenerative AI is one of the risks identified by the commission for the integrity of electoral processes, in particular for the upcoming European Parliament
