{"id":11775,"date":"2024-05-14T16:01:19","date_gmt":"2024-05-14T13:01:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=11775"},"modified":"2024-05-14T16:01:19","modified_gmt":"2024-05-14T13:01:19","slug":"bank-of-cyprus-named-best-bank-best-investment-bank","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=11775","title":{"rendered":"Bank of Cyprus named best bank, best investment bank"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Global Finance, one of the leading international publications focused on banking and finance, has named Bank of Cyprus the Best Bank and the Best Investment Bank in Cyprus in its 2024 awards<\/strong>, according to an announcement released on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<div class=\"cypru-video-ads\" id=\"cypru-1102204435\">\n<div id=\"cypru-663005814\" data-cypru-trackid=\"478051\" data-cypru-trackbid=\"1\" class=\"cypru-target\">\n<div id=\"gpt-ad-8959511614842-0\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The announcement noted that \u201cthese award wins are particularly important for the bank as they recognise the <strong>significant achievements of Bank of Cyprus during 2023<\/strong>, such as the strong financial and operational performance and the recommencement of<strong> dividend payments after a 12-year hiatus<\/strong> while expanding its digital offering to customers\u201d.<br \/>\n\u201cIn a milestone year for the bank, the <strong>Bank of Cyprus has completed a significant transformation into a well-capitalised and diversified banking group<\/strong>,\u201d Global Finance noted after the awards were made public.<br \/>\n\u201cWith a <strong>pre-tax profit of \u20ac487 million in 2023<\/strong>, the bank has delivered a strong performance with a commitment to sustainable growth and further developing innovative banking products,\u201d the magazine added.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-785071 lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/bank-of-cyprus-named-best-bank-best-investment-bank.png\" alt=\"j 04076 2024 boc awards best bank press release design 02 global finance cyprus\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\"><br \/>\nIn addition, Global Finance explained that \u201cthe bank benefits from a diversified income stream; and its insurance companies, Eurolife and GI, are leading players in Cyprus\u2019 life and general insurance business,\u201d noting that \u201cthe net insurance result for the year was up 20 per cent\u201d.<br \/>\nWhat is more, the magazine said that \u201cthe well-capitalised institution delivered a ROTE of 24.8 per cent, which surpassed its 2023 targets, and a year-end CET1 ratio of 18.7 per cent\u201d.<br \/>\n\u201cThe bank also maintains a highly liquid balance sheet, with<strong> \u20ac9.6 billion placed at the European Central Bank,<\/strong>\u201d Global Finance concluded.<br \/>\nCommenting on the awards<strong>, Panicos Nicolaou, CEO of Bank of Cyprus,<\/strong> said \u201cwe are delighted to be named <strong>Best Bank<\/strong> and <strong>Best Investment Bank<\/strong> in Cyprus by the renowned banking and finance magazine, Global Finance\u201d.<br \/>\n\u201cThis award is international recognition of the<strong> strong financial and operational performance<\/strong> as well as the innovative products and services that we delivered in 2023 while <strong>supporting the Cypriot economy and creating sustainable value<\/strong> for our shareholders\u201d.<br \/>\nAll of the winners of Global Finance\u2019s Best Bank awards can be seen here, and the winners of its Best Investment Bank awards can be seen here.
