{"id":11701,"date":"2024-05-13T22:00:32","date_gmt":"2024-05-13T19:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=11701"},"modified":"2024-05-13T22:00:32","modified_gmt":"2024-05-13T19:00:32","slug":"no-unsolvable-problems-between-turkey-and-greece","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=11701","title":{"rendered":"\u2018No unsolvable problems\u2019 between Turkey and Greece"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/no-unsolvable-problems-between-turkey-and-greece.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during talks in Ankara on Monday that <strong>there were \u201cno unsolvable problems\u201d between their countries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"cypru-video-ads\" id=\"cypru-1511023495\">\n<div id=\"cypru-1874638132\" data-cypru-trackid=\"478051\" data-cypru-trackbid=\"1\" class=\"cypru-target\">\n<div id=\"gpt-ad-9296611015048-0\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Turkey and Greece, Nato allies and historic foes, have long been at odds over issues including maritime boundaries, energy resources in the eastern Mediterranean, flights over the Aegean Sea, and ethnically split Cyprus.<br \/>\nAfter years of tensions that brought the two to the brink of conflict, they have started taking high-profile steps to improve ties, especially since both leaders were re-elected last year.<br \/>\n\u201cDespite disagreements, <strong>we focus on a positive agenda by keeping our dialogue channels open<\/strong>,\u201d Erdogan told a joint press conference with Mitsotakis.<br \/>\nMitsotakis said the leaders\u2019 frequent meetings in recent months had \u201cproved that we neighbours can establish an approach of mutual understanding, not as an exception but as a productive normality\u201d.<br \/>\n\u201cWe showed today that alongside our proven disagreements, we can chart a parallel page of agreements,\u201d he added.<br \/>\nErdogan visited Athens last December and the two countries signed the \u201cDeclaration of Athens\u201d aimed at setting the base for a roadmap to rebooting relations.<br \/>\nThey agreed to boost trade, keep communication channels open<strong>, carry out military confidence-building measures to reduce tensions<\/strong>, and work on problems that have kept them apart.<br \/>\nThe two leaders disagreed over how to classify the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
