{"id":11274,"date":"2024-05-10T09:01:06","date_gmt":"2024-05-10T06:01:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=11274"},"modified":"2024-05-10T09:01:06","modified_gmt":"2024-05-10T06:01:06","slug":"uae-tourist-arrivals-to-cyprus-increase-ministry-sees-potential-in-middle-east-and-asia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/?p=11274","title":{"rendered":"UAE tourist arrivals to Cyprus increase , \u2014 ministry sees potential in Middle East and Asia"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ch.jfdi.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/uae-tourist-arrivals-to-cyprus-increase-ministry-sees-potential-in-middle-east-and-asia.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>The United Arab Emirates (UAE) tourist market for Cyprus is steadily on the rise<\/strong>, according to Deputy Minister of Tourism <strong>Kostas Koumis,<\/strong> who stressed the need for increased attention to<strong> Middle Eastern and Asian countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"cypru-video-ads\" id=\"cypru-902730704\">\n<div id=\"cypru-1499009351\" data-cypru-trackid=\"478051\" data-cypru-trackbid=\"1\" class=\"cypru-target\">\n<div id=\"gpt-ad-4074967312368-0\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Speaking following the conclusion of meetings at both the Arabian Travel Market tourism exhibition and the AIM Congress, Koumis stated that discussions during these events explored the possibility of new promotional actions, which \u201care now firmly on the path to implementation\u201d.<br \/>\nA statement released on Thursday by the Tourism Ministry noted that Koumis led a delegation to the Arabian Travel Market 2024 exhibition in Dubai, accompanied by industry partners.<br \/>\nMeetings were held with travel agents and airlines, which aimed at <strong>increasing tourist flows from the UAE<\/strong> and Middle Eastern countries in general, as well as enhancing Cyprus\u2019 air connectivity with existing and new destinations.<br \/>\nSpecifically, the statement continued, <strong>meetings were held with senior executives of various airlines<\/strong>, including Jazeera, Gulf Air, and Air India.<br \/>\nThe minister then took part in the 13th Annual Investment Meeting (AIM Congress 2024) in Abu Dhabi.<br \/>\nThe congress focused on adapting to a changing investment landscape and harnessing the potential for global economic development.<br \/>\nIt was held under the auspices of the UAE Minister of Commerce, Tani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, with whom the Cypriot minister met during a private appointment.<br \/>\nMoreover, within the framework of the AIM Congress 2024, the Cypriot delegation, under the Deputy Minister\u2019s auspices, held meetings and networking<strong> contacts with leading figures in the tourism and investment sectors.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe ministry described the meeting with the head of the International Investors Council of the UAE and officials of the investment department of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) as \u201cextremely important\u201d.<br \/>\nIn his statement, Koumis said that \u201cit is important that yet another highly interesting market for our country remains steadily on an upward trajectory.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cLast year saw a <strong>14 per cent rise in arrivals from the UAE<\/strong>, and we are pleased to see the possibility of a significant increase again this year,\u201d he added.<br \/>\nIn addition, the minister noted that during the meetings primarily focused on the prospects of the coming years, starting from 2025.<br \/>\n\u201cBoth Middle Eastern and Asian countries undoubtedly deserve more attention,\u201d Koumis said.<br \/>\n\u201cWe have discussed the possibility of new promotional actions, which are now firmly on the path to implementation,\u201d he added.<br \/>\nRegarding the <strong>Indian<\/strong> market, Koumis said that there is interest for the near future, but much depends on the evolving plans within the companies that have shown interest in Cyprus.<br \/>\n\u201cOn our part,\u201d he said, \u201cthe only certainty is that we are proceeding with a <strong>plan to strengthen demand from this specific country<\/strong>, with a clear <strong>focus on some special forms of tourism<\/strong>\u201c.<br \/>\nRegarding the investment sector, the Deputy Minister of Tourism said that significant contacts were made during the Annual Investment Meeting, confirming essentially that strategic partnerships can be formed with the UAE in the field of investments.<br \/>\n\u201cI consider the meeting with the <strong>country\u2019s International Investors Council to be extremely important<\/strong>, as well as the fact that the <strong>foundations for the start of a good cooperation<\/strong> have been laid,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The United Arab Emirates tourist market for Cyprus is steadily rising, with a 14% increase in arrivals from the UAE last year.
